The sliding fee discount program is intended to minimize financial barriers to care for patients whose household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Each year, the federal government sets annual household income levels to be used as a guide to determine if a person or family is considered to be living in poverty. Sliding fee means that costs change according to the patient’s household income, lack of household income, or ability to pay.
